Project summary

The goal of this project is to help understand how the provision of information can lead to changes in food waste generation and the state of food security at the household level. This main objective is reflected in the following specific objectives: (i) Compare reported and disclosed food waste estimates. Declared food waste corresponds to the food waste that a household claims to produce, while revealed food waste is the waste objectively measured with a scale. (ii) Analyze the effect of information interventions (economic consequences message and culinary education messages regarding food waste) on food security. (iii) Analyze the effect of information interventions on the amount of food wastage.
