D. in Sociology from the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. Sociologist, Universidad Alberto Hurtado. Master’s Degree in Social Sciences at FLACSO.

Sociologist and Associate Professor of the School of Economics, Government and Communications of the Universidad Central de Chile. He received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Chile, a master’s degree in social sciences from FLACSO, and his PhD from the Humboldt University of Berlin. His research integrates empirical and theoretical work on collective action and protest, the legitimization of inequalities and capitalist social relations, and the problem of ideology, among other topics. These papers combine qualitative and quantitative methods, and have been published in journals such as Social Forces, Feminist Economics, Revista Internacional de Sociología, Social Movement Studies, Latin American Research Review, and the Journal of Politics in Latin America. Currently, he leads the ANID/Fondecyt Project “Legitimation, Ideology, and Contentious Collective Action”.
